At the risk of being controversial. This is just me having a go at the powers that be, in the hope that we might change things. We cows are not guilty |

The Office of Fair Trading has provisionally found that large supermarkets and dairy processors have colluded to increase the prices of dairy products, which they say led to an estimated cost to consumers of around £270 million, with little, if any, benefit to farmers. Listening to Kevin Hawkins on farming radio this morning, who is spokesman for the big supermarkets, he intimated that the price rises were all about delivering better prices to farmers. As spokesman for the cows from Lyburn Farm, they have asked me to convey the message that they saw none of this money and are the innocent parties, and did in no way collude with any dairy company or supermarket, and for any one to infer that the alleged £270 million was all part of helping farmers is some kind of sick joke. Get real Mr. Hawkins. I have no idea as to the merits of the allegations, but the cows I speak for are not guilty. |
