Youngstock all looking over the gate, they can smell the grass.
Cows all back out to grass about 10 days ago, ground as hard as rock and little or no rain in recent weeks along with night temperatures being below zero has made for slow growth. We do now need some nice warm rain to get things going.
Old Winchester continues to be tight for the time being, but we are winning slowly!
Butch Cassidy has brought a bit of light amusement into our lives at the cost of complete chaos to world markets and he suddenly finds himself out on his own.
Brexit man has gone very quiet, what happened to all those cosy trips to the US to see his mate, and his cohort.
The Man from X, has very quickly stood back, his share price has been cut to shreds and it has cost him billions, his dealerships are under huge pressure, only time will tell what his future is, it won’t be easy the damage is done.
Then his little mate from Russia, Vlad, and those chatty phone calls, with the end of the war in Ukraine not looking good. He may have had maple syrup on his tie but now has egg on his face, this is not going well and soon he won’t have any friends at all.
Meanwhile back at the ranch Britains only steel plant hangs by a thread, for a number of reasons, which we won’t go into. As parliament sits today, Saturday, the business, absolutely has to be retained, it is part of our national infrastructure, it has to be retained. Just like our national food infrastructure has to be improved and retained, but it is slowly slipping away, but no one listens. The politicians are all hot air and hollow promises, and they just can’t understand there is not enough liquidity in British Agriculture to cope with their Micky Mouse Inheritance Tax, it is just another nail in the coffin of food security. Britain can not survive on the service industry alone, it has to make things and grow things. Lets hope we don’t get down to the last loaf of bread on the shelf, being made by China.
The absolute chaos in world markets, for car makers, cheesemakers and candlestick makers, is a lesson we all need to learn from. Friends we thought were friends, are no longer friends, ask Canada and Ukraine. Butch Cassidy for all his faults, may have done us all a big favour, although we won’t tell him this, our complacency is a dangerous scenario, and we would do well to learn from it.
