St Andrews Church Landford

This is our village church, and recently we have had to repair a hole in the roof and one or two other little jobs, including rescuing church yard from mother nature and a good old tidy up. The Christmas tree went up today and it has been decided to flood light the church for a couple of weeks. Standing on the top of a hill alongside Stock Lane, now easily seen for the A36 as you travel form Southampton to Salisbury.
The boys were in town again with their tractors, to help Rachel from accounts, to deliver her budget. The Met got in a pickle and must have had instructions to cancel these rebellious farmers and keep them out of town, but the bird had flown, the boys were all fired up and, on their way,, and no one was going to stop them. The Met actually caused more chaos than clarity and for an hour or two it was pretty chaotic, and top marks to all the bystanders and taxis caught in a day’s ploughing. They all delivered their support as they were all being beaten with Rachel’s Big Tax Stick as well.
Then the Met got really tough and handcuffed several, quiet, law abiding, farm boys, which was a silly thing to do, as they should be out there catching all those bandits running around London stealing peoples I phones, however handcuffing farmers is much easier.
Meanwhile just down the road the OBR delivered Rachel’s speech for her, and thus leading to even more chaos. So, what did we get, well it was all very boring, Rachel just kicked the can down the road. OUT, were productivity and growth, and IN was more welfare, that is already totally out of control, and those with the broadest shoulders, basically working people who do a proper day’s work, can pay for it. Never mind Rachel’s view that she will be chancellor for years to come, total delusion.
We need to nip back up the road and see what the Met are up to. Someone has left his green and red tractor on a yellow line,, and the Met need to move it!!! More embarrassment, how do you start this thing? Does no one know how to move it , someone suggests that they hook it up to a police transit and tow it away. Sorry boys that won’t work. Go and find a 13-year-old farm boy who will get you out of the hole you have dug for yourself, easy.
Back down the road the question is being asked, ‘Just how honest are politicians? That’s an argument that will go on for ages, but there is no doubt about it, that was the most chaotic budget ever and our lady certainly sent out some very confusing messages, and the UK economy will be the poorer for it. Those wishing to see her back in the Halifax, should be mindful that we could end up with another front bencher, who could be even worse.

We really can’t let this week pass without comment, regarding IHT. It is with some relief there has been some movement on IHT, for us this will have made a substantial difference, but the narrative around the release of the news was pretty weak. First of all, the DEFRA minister, Emma Reynolds was wheeled out to deliver the news. That was not her job, where was Rachel from Accounts? Probably hiding, because this was her mistake right from the start. Then we have the back storey, Rachel takes the view that she needed the money to pay the NHS bills. Emma Reynolds takes the view that there are too many successful business men investing in land and pushing the price up. This was an attack on hard working, middle Britain and thought to be an easy buck. There are still thousands of SME’s caught in this vile trap, and destroying their businesses over a period of years will do Britain no service at all. This is a dreadful mess!

Sheep in Long Field

Having had very little grass in the summer we now have so much grass we don’t know what to do with it, so we have borrowed 150 sheep to eat it down, however we could do with 500!!
