A number of very frosty mornings in March
Sorry but we are still short of Old Winchester and wholesalers are on rations. We have been working Saturdays in an effort to get more cheese on the shelf, but as far as Old Winchester is concerned, what we made today, wont be ready for sale until the middle of 2026!!
Spring is on the way and the cows are looking over the gate, as the grass is just beginning to grow but being held back by a number of very cold and frosty mornings. Winter is behind us as it is in the USA. Butch Cassidy gets up in the morning with a spring in his step, he has sorted out the colour of his tie for the day, could be red, could be blue, but let’s use orange. He sits down for his breakfast, pancakes and maple syrup, why not.
He has time to write out his shopping list for the next 6 months. Always unpredictable, controversial, but this is why he gets so much telly, he just loves all the adulation. Policy sometime goes out the window, but that’s not a problem we can always change tack tomorrow. Now back to that shopping list, biro at the ready, not in any particular order, Greenland, Panama, Canada, Gaza, Ukraine, and may be Europe.
On second thoughts, might have to share Europe and the Ukraine with the Russians. That will be all, for the time being, anything is possible when you can walk on water.
He changes his mind, yet again, it’s the Red tie.
During the Christmas period I was sent a bill for £1,316.19, for electric consumed on the farm, and you might expect me to pay it. However, our contract with Eon expired in September 2023! I asked for the justification of this bill, given it was more than 12 months old and was sent a pile of completely indiscernible paper work that no one could reasonably be expected to make, head nor tail of.
I was also sent a bill for £40 for late payment, after 24 days, this was then rescinded, and then re imposed, not to mention, they then changed the value of the bill. Then on 9th January I receive a deadlock letter! We now hear from the news that thousands of people are being sent similar bills. Has the world gone completely mad, Butch Cassidy and our ‘power suppliers’, are charging around like Jersey bulls in a china shop, showing complete contempt and disregard for all around, these are very dangerous times. I have appealed to the Ombudsman, wasting God knows how much of my time in doing so!
Now I need to choose my tie for today, is it the cow tie or the pumpkin tie…………….
