October 2013

216-pumpkin

Pumpkin in great profusion this year, after the complete disaster of the 2012 crop, the 2013 crop got off to a late start, then the summer weather kicked in in July and the the pumpkin of all types just took off. They all ripened on time, so no green ones and then we had no frost to damage them before they went to market, crop held up well in the field and very little out grade. They grey Crown Prince still looking good and are going to keep well, so will have them right through to March. There has been good trade for organic vegetables and orders are well up for 2014.
