September 2012

Another year goes by and another British Cheese Awards, in Cardiff, is with us and so quickly gone again. For Lyburn some very good results.
Old Winchester continues to impress and was a Gold in the British Modern Class. Bronze in the Export class. With distribution across the whole of the UK now,Old Winchester is available for everybody, as supplies are much better than they were a year ago.

Lyburn Lightly Oak Smoked, has in the past delivered silver medals, and now for the first time delivered a Gold. We have changed the smoker, changed the make, and now get this lovely delicate smoke, and the colour of the rind is perfect, really pleased with this result.

Stoney Cross, has had a great run this year, with Silver at Nantwich and triple Gold at Great Taste, and now a Silver in Cardiff along with the Garlic and Nettle.

Stoney cross is also the base for Francis, and Francis took the prize for best new Cheese. This is a joint venture with James Cheese me make em, he washes and ripens em, picture to follow.
