Cheese making and packing vacancy.

Full or part time vacancy for a general assistant.

Lyburn farm is located on the Northern edge of the New Forest, Salisbury, Wiltshire and we make cheese with the milk from our own herd of 170 Pedigree cows. These are artisan handmade cheeses, and we are best known for Old Winchester and Stoney Cross.

We have a vacancy for a general assistant, who will be part of a team of four, eager to be engaged with the production, subsequent maturation, packing and distribution of our cheeses to all parts of the country. It will be of benefit, if you have worked in the food industry previously. However we are in a position to offer a two year apprenticeship with Reaseheath College, for someone who is younger and does not have the experience but would like to further their education.

You will be expected to help in the making of the cheese, and will be involved with most aspects of the business. The work in the cheese room is hot and demanding, and you should not underestimate the amount of energy you will need.

This is a full or part time position, in house training will be provided, and competitive rates of pay are offered, subject to experience and a current UK driving licence.
